What is this course?

People working in a project environment have different needs brought on by

This two day course visits some of the people skills required by Project Managers. While other courses may cover some of the same skills, this course presents them in the context of Project Management.

  • Stress. How a project manager can recognise and deal with stress.
  • Listening and communicating. Practical advice and examples.
  • Motivating. Practical advice on motivating individuals and teams.
  • Conflict Management. Different approaches to conflict management.
  • Stakeholders. Some techniques for formal identification and analysis.
  • Negotiation skills. Practical advice and techniques for negotiating.

The course was written jointly by an experienced Project Manager and an experienced workplace counselor who is also the current president of c.a.p.a.v (Counselors and Psychotherapists Association of Victoria). Both are also experienced trainers.
