Candidates who undertake the new more advanced Change Management Practitioner course and exam will gain a deeper knowledge of the principles of change management and an understanding of how to implement and manage change in their organisations. The objective of the course is to enable candidates to generate better acceptance of change through the implementation of change theories, enabling a higher rate of satisfactory change while keeping staff engaged.

The new Practitioner course builds on the knowledge of the four change areas from the Foundation course and supplements this with information taken from the People Alchemy website www.peoplealchemy.co.uk which enables candidates to further understand the concepts and application of change management.

The Practitioner Exam is a 3-hour multiple choice paper. It is open book and comprises four questions based on a given scenario. There are 20 marks per question. Candidates must score 50% to pass.

By including the Change Management Practitioner's Handbook and additional sections from Making Sense of Change Management, the syllabus covers a wider range than the Change Management Foundation material. Some of the additional topics include

• Leadership through Tuckman's four phases of team change

• Tools for complex change

Course particpants will receive

• The APMG Change Management Practitioner's Handbook, approximately 40 pages of new and very useful information
• A complimentary subscription for over a year to the People Alchemy web site - www.peoplealchemy.co.uk. This site is packed with useful information on a wide range of topics (e.g. negotiation, influencing, team leadership). Much of the Practitioner's Handbook is based on information from this site. This registration is available as soon as the course booking is confirmed.
• A pre-course study guide with practice questions
• One day of tuition and discussion. Although there is some recapping of the topics covered in the Foundation course, the emphasis is on facilitated discussion of the new topics.
• More practice questions
• The APMG Practitioner Exam

Participants should allow approximately 10 hours for the self study prior to the course. A study guide is given to all course particpants.
