What is Change Management?

Change Management is the process, tools and techniques to manage the people aspects of change processes, to achieve the required outcomes and to realise the change effectively within

  • individuals
  • teams
  • organisations

To be effective, all three levels must be addressed.

There is a growing body of knowledge about the problems inherent in managing change and how to avoid or manage the problems.

This body of knowledge has considerable overlap with the psychology of individuals and teams in a project environment.

The APM Group are the UK based administrators of ITIL® and the PRINCE2® methodology. They offer two levels of accredited qualification:

  • Change Management Foundation
  • Change Management Practitioner

The syllabus is based on the book by Esther Cameron and Mike Green, “Making Sense of Change Management”, 2009 edition. It builds on change management experience and focuses on the effects of change in four key areas, the individual, the team, the organisation and leadership for change.

At Project Laneways, we offer this qualification with an accredited course.

The Change Management Foundation course is a three day course including everything you need to take the Change Management Foundation qualification. It is both an excellent grounding in the basics of Change Management and an opportunity to improve your career with a respected qualification.

The Change Management Practitioner courseis a three day course that builds on and extends the work covered in the Foundation course. Additional material is provided in the form of a Change Management Practitioner's Handbook and course particpants are entitled to a complimentary registration at  www.people-alchemy.co.uk.
